Essential Eyecare & Optical in Longwood, FL is looking for a motivated and experienced Optical Office Manager to lead our team and keep our practice running smoothly. Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily front office operations including scheduling, patient flow, and staff coordination
- Manage optical dispensary operations including frame inventory, lens orders, and vendor relationships
- Train, supervise, assist, and support all staff in all roles to ensure exceptional patient experiences
- Handle insurance verification, billing, and claims processing for vision and medical plans
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and office policies and procedures
- Resolve patient concerns and maintain high standards of customer service
- Monitor office performance metrics and assist with budgeting and reporting
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in optical office management or a senior optometric role
- Familiarity with optical dispensing, frame styling, and lens products preferred
- Experience with vision insurance plans (VSP, EyeMed, Medicaid) and medical billing
- Proficiency with optical or medical practice management software (e.g. Revolution EHR)
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with a positive, hands-on approach
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- ABO certification or state licensure a plus
